Wyatt got a few STEM items for Christmas (other than LEGO kits). One of them was a subscription to Tinker Crate. His first kit was learning about using cams to make rotational motion into lateral motion.

The kids enjoyed learning about how to vote and especially getting stickers. But we all like that part, right?

Here’s Wyatt’s first every fish he caught. That’s his Granddad, “Pop”, assisting with the net, too. That is one happy kid! Well, at least until he saw what cleaning a fish entailed.
We learned Ticket to Ride as our New Year’s Eve party at home.
Getting the kids to help with chores is sometimes, well, a chore. However, the kids learned the joys of raking up Fall leaves this afternoon.
And here’s some cool slow-motion video evidence that Wyatt doesn’t understand the idea of keeping his forward momentum.
Both of the kids have now learned how to ride a bike using the “balance bike” method. Basically, take off the pedals and let them coast down a hill to practice balancing. After a dozen or so times, they’ll be ready to put the pedals back on and ride around. It’s amazing how well this worked.
We finally had a proper snow today. So we took the day off work and went out to play in the snow. We made some snow men and snow angels.
Wyatt was extra warm in his thick giraffe costume this year. Paid off, too, as he was able to walk to more houses without getting tired and brought home loads of candy!
Ainsley has become a big fan of Spider-man, and picked out this t-shirt for Wyatt.
